Forward your calls to Scheduley
Already have a business number on your cards, van, and Google profile? Keep it. Instead of asking clients to call a new number, you forward your existing line to your Scheduley number — so your AI Front Desk answers, books, and texts you the details, while the number your clients know stays exactly the same.
You choose how much gets forwarded. This is the phone-carrier side of the routing options in the Agent tab — set it once and every call is covered.
Two ways to forward — pick one
Recommended
Only when you can’t get to it (conditional)
Your phone rings first. If you’re busy, don’t answer in time, or your phone’s off, the call rolls over to Scheduley — sometimes called rollover forwarding. You still take the calls you want; Scheduley catches the rest. Best match for “You answer first, AI as backup.”
Or
Every call, straight to Scheduley (unconditional)
Your phone never rings — 100% of calls go to your AI Front Desk. Best when you’d rather not field the phone at all, or you’re advertising a line you never pick up yourself. This is the “always forward” option.
Your Scheduley number lives in the Agent tab — and Scheduley shows the exact dial codes for your carrier right there, pre-filled with your number. The steps below are the universal reference if you’d rather set it from your phone’s menus.
On an iPhone
The built-in menu only does every-call (unconditional) forwarding, and only on some carriers (it works on AT&T and T-Mobile lines; on Verizon it’s usually missing — use the dial codes below instead):
- Open Settings → Phone (on newer iOS: Settings → Apps → Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and turn it on.
- Tap Forward To and enter your Scheduley number.
iPhone Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding
Want the recommended only-when-unanswered setup on iPhone? The menu can’t do that — type the carrier dial code into your Phone keypad instead (see the tables below). Be in cell range when you turn forwarding on or off.
On an Android phone
Android’s menu can set conditional forwarding with no codes — the recommended way:
- Open the Phone app, tap the ⋮ menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls → Call forwarding. (On a Pixel it may be under Calling accounts; on some Samsungs, Supplementary services.)
- Pick a condition and enter your Scheduley number:
- Always forward — every call (unconditional)
- When busy — you’re already on a call
- When unanswered — you don’t pick up in time (the recommended one)
- When unreachable — phone off or no signal
For catch-the-overflow coverage, set When unanswered (and, if you like, When busy and When unreachable too) to your Scheduley number. To turn it off, open each condition and disable it.
Android Phone app → Settings → Calls → Call forwarding
Carrier dial codes
Type these into your Phone keypad and press call. They work on iPhone and Android alike, and they’re the only way to set conditional forwarding on an iPhone. Replace NUMBER with your Scheduley number (area code included).
AT&T, T-Mobile, and most other carriers
| What you want | Turn on | Turn off |
| Only when unanswered (recommended) | **61*NUMBER# | ##61# |
| Only when busy | **67*NUMBER# | ##67# |
| Only when off / no signal | **62*NUMBER# | ##62# |
| Every call | **21*NUMBER# | ##21# |
| Turn off every kind at once | — | ##002# |
Set the ring time: add seconds to the unanswered code to control how long your phone rings before rolling over — e.g. **61*NUMBER**20# waits 20 seconds. Use 5-second steps up to 30. To check what’s currently set, dial *#61# (or *#21#).
Verizon (Verizon’s lines use their own codes and don’t split busy from no-answer):
| What you want | Dial |
| When busy or unanswered (recommended) | *71 then your Scheduley number |
| Every call | *72 then your Scheduley number |
| Turn forwarding off | *73 |
Using a landline, VoIP, or Google Voice number?
Handset dial codes are for mobile lines. If your business number is a landline, a VoIP line (RingCentral, Ooma, a cable-company phone), or Google Voice, set forwarding in that provider’s app or online account instead — look for “Call forwarding” in its settings and point it at your Scheduley number. The choice is the same: forward everything, or only when unanswered/busy.
Turn forwarding off
- iPhone: Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding → toggle off.
- Android: Phone app → Settings → Calls → Call forwarding → open each condition and turn it off.
- Dial codes: Verizon
*73; everyone else ##002# to clear all forwarding (or the individual ##61#, ##67#, ##21#).
Good to know
- Test it: after you set it up, call your business number from another phone the way a client would — you should reach your AI Front Desk. Every call also appears in your calls inbox with the recording and transcript.
- Which conditions to set: for full overflow coverage, set unanswered, busy, and unreachable all to your Scheduley number (Android does the first for you; on iPhone, dial each code).
- Texts: call forwarding moves calls, not SMS. To automate texts to your existing number, connect your channels — see AI text messages.
- Charges: a forwarded call may use plan minutes depending on your carrier and plan. Check your plan if you’re unsure.
- Availability varies: not every carrier or line exposes all four conditions. The Agent tab shows the exact codes that work for your number.
Once forwarding is on, finish setup on the AI receptionist page, and if a call ever doesn’t reach the agent, see Troubleshooting.
